Head Chef
- TYGA ???????????????????????? Neo Southeast Asian Restaurant Tyga is looking for a strong, service-driven Head Chef to lead the kitchen team and continue building one of Melbourne’s standout dining venues. This is a hands-on leadership role for a chef who thrives in a quick-paced environment, values consistency and culture, and takes pride in running an organised, high-performing kitchen. About the Role As Head Chef, you will oversee all kitchen operations including service, staffing, food quality, systems, ordering, rostering, and cost control. You’ll work closely with ownership and management to drive standards, develop the team, and contribute creatively to the direction of the venue. We’re looking for someone who can lead from the front — calm under pressure, highly organised, and passionate about delivering exceptional food every service. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all day-to-day kitchen operations
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
- Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff
- Manage rosters, labour costs, and kitchen productivity
- Oversee ordering, stock control, and supplier relationships
- Maintain food safety and OH&S; compliance
- Contribute to menu development and seasonal specials
- Work collaboratively with front of house management to ensure smooth service What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a fast paced restaurant
- Experience in SE Asian cuisine preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent understanding of kitchen operations and cost management
- Ability to build culture and hold high standards
- Passion for quality produce and modern hospitality
- Reliable, professional, and solutions-focused attitude
