Baker/Baker's Assistant (Malvern)

Applicants must be available to work a flexible roster and be available 7 days a week including weekends and public holidays to meet the business’ needs. This is a full-time position offering approximately 38 hours per week. Key Responsibilities
· Preparation and production of quality bakery products as per Bakers Delight standards.
· Ensure bread quality and range is up to standard and delivered in a timely manner to meet customer demands.
· Maintain an effective relationship with all team members of the Bakery. Tasks Include:
- kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goods
- preparing pastry fillings
- monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times
- coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products
- glazing buns and pastries, and decorating with icing
- operating machines which roll and mould dough and cut
- emptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment
- checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises before production runs to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
- checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients To be considered for this role, you need to be able to meet the following selection criteria:

· Complete duties as directed by your manager/supervisor
· Abide by company policies and procedures at all times
· Train, develop and supervise apprentices and staff in the Bakery Department
· Maintain an effective relationship with all team members of the Bakery
· Have an eye for detail
· Have positive numeracy and literacy skills
· Have a sound knowledge of food handling and food safety
