Melbourne Pathology is one of Victoria’s largest diagnostic pathology laboratories, committed to providing high quality healthcare throughout metropolitan Melbourne, regional Victoria and interstate.

An opportunity exists for an internal transfer of an enthusiastic staff member with relevant skillset to join the team at the Malvern laboratory to provide assistance and support to the Histopathologists.

Reporting to the manager of Anatomical Pathology, the role would be suited to a person looking for a recent challenge, with good communication skills, and keen to learn tasks associated with histology administration.

Prior experience is not essential, however a basic understanding of the CHUI, Histology Tracking/Reporting GUI and Microsoft excel skills favourable. In-house training and support will be provided at the Collingwood Lab.

Position requirements:

- Proficient in results enquiries and troubleshooting
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Ability to work alone and be an integral part of a small team
- Understanding of and commitment to OH&S.;

Duties include:

- Results line & data entry troubleshooting
- Histology laboratory slide filing and retrieval tasks
- Data entry for billing of frozen sections, MDMs and Clinical Trials
- Preparation of reports and slides for MDMs
- Skin audit maintenance
- Administration tasks for second opinion cases and ancillary referred testing
- Bookings for Frozen sections and FNAs at Cabrini related sites
- Participation in the educational and quality assurance activities of the department
- Other administrative assistance to the histopathologists as required.

Shifts will be Monday to Friday, but are negotiable for part-time or full-time hours. Remuneration will be at the level of Clerk grade 3, however consideration will be given to existing contract conditions and experience.
