The Bank in Carnegie, is a busy suburban pub located on the busy restaurant strip of Koornang Rd. Established in 2021, The Bank has quickly become a favourite destination for locals and the wider community. With a sprawling beer garden and functions space, as well as a large covered outdoor dining space. We are looking for an experienced chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will require extensive experience working across different sections of the kitchen, including larder, pans and grill. Whilst also balancing prep and function canapes. Knowledge of food safety, recipe creation and strong knife skills are a must. As is the ability to work as part of a team, manage individuals, as well as train less experienced chefs and apprentices. The menu consists of classic pub food, such as steaks, chicken Parma’s and burgers. But, also has several Sri Lankan dishes on it that have become very popular. Experience with contemporary Australian cuisine, as well as Sri Lankan food will be looked upon favourably. Wednesday to Sunday availability is required, and candidates will need to be comfortable working all nights with late finishes.
