**The Department**
Alfred Health Support Services provides the core Support Services of Non-ward Cleaning, Gardens and Grounds, Distribution, Security, Ward Support, Food Services, and Car Parking.
The position of Food Services Assistant is a key operational role within the Support Services and Food Services team.
**The Role**
We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic people to join our Food Services team as a Food Services Assistant. In this role you will be required to plate meals, prepare meal items such as mid meal snacks, sandwiches and desserts, wash dishes and complete other cleaning tasks. We are also looking for staff to join the team and assist with delivering meals between sites which would require a current driver's licence.
You will have a background of experience in Food Services within Health & Aged Care Facilities or equivalent. A high level of flexibility and motivation to achieve set standards is required.
You will be able to work both in a team environment and autonomously and possess valuable time management skills. The understanding and practicing of infection control & and food safety principles is essential.
**Skills and Experience Required**
- A background of experience in Food Services within Health and Aged Care facilities
- Have the ability and adaptability to participate in change
- Have completed or be willing to participate in training and education appropriate to improve skills required for the performance of the position

- Excellent communication skills
- Ensure a clean and sanitary environment
- Knowledge of safe food handling
- Assist with catering events
