Risk Officer (Caulfield)

We’re seeking a **Risk Officer** to join our Risk & Compliance team on a **full time** basis. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience across key risk areas, including Health & Safety (H&S;), Gaming Compliance, Insurance, and Cybersecurity.

As well as running elite horse racing at Caulfield, Sportsbet Sandown and Mornington Racecourses, we own 15 pub venues under the Pegasus Leisure Group (PLG).

**What will your responsibilities be?**
- Ensure timely risk register reviews aligned with the MRC’s risk appetite and reporting processes.
- Identify improvement opportunities to strengthen controls and reduce risks of conflicts.
- Support the Compliance Team to manage day-to-day Gaming Compliance activities.
- Conduct and facilitate internal audit-style reviews of specific areas based on targeted risk assessments.
- Assist in implementing H&S; initiatives and coach Managers, Team Leaders, and Supervisors to ensure the safety, health, and well-being of all employees and visitors.
- Support with insurance renewals and claims management.

**Skills & Experience**
- Tertiary qualification in a risk-related field.
- Demonstrated experience as a Risk Officer in a corporate environment.
- Strong practical knowledge of risk management.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Great time management and prioritisation skills.
- Solid understanding of modern risk management models, principles, and techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel to MRC locations across Victoria.
- Availability to work some weekends based on race day or event schedules (with a day in lieu provided).
