About the role:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the core purpose of this role is to manage the payroll processing lifecycle and the full function payroll service for a workforce exceeding 500. The role is supported by a Payroll Clerk:
Responsibilities:
End to end payroll management and the processing of payroll each fortnight.
Review and ensure all employee timesheets are accurate and approved by managers ready for payroll processing.
Liaise with managers across the organisation to ensure accurate and correct processing of staff wages.
Reviewing payroll data for accuracy, including processing payroll adjustments, and resolving discrepancies.
Respond to all payroll related queries raised by staff or managers in the organisation.
Ensure the Kronos system’s employee records relating to payroll are kept up to date and remains in sync with Payroll Metrics.
Ensure payroll processes are compliant with state, and national payroll regulations.
Ensure all the fortnightly payroll reports are issued on time.
Skills:
Experience in Payroll Metrics and Kronos time & attendance systems is essential.
Experience in end-to-end payroll for a workforce exceeding 500 employees, either in Retail, construction and trades industries.
Ability to work to tight deadlines.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and the aptitude to quickly learn recent systems and processes.
A confident communicator who is highly analytical with excellent attention to detail.
Extensive knowledge of AU payroll legislation and regulations.
Demonstrated passion for process improvement and optimisation in payroll systems.
