Control Systems Engineer (Shire of Murray)

Control Systems Engineer – WA Mining Operations At Alcoa, you will become an essential part of our purpose: to turn raw potential into real progress. As a Control Systems Engineer supporting our WA Mining Operations at Huntly and Willowdale, you will play a key role in the design, implementation and continuous improvement of electrical and control systems across fixed plant infrastructure. This role is offered on a Monday to Friday roster with one leisure day off per four week period. You will be empowered to drive reliability, innovation and performance, ensuring our operations meet production, cost and quality objectives. Key responsibilities
- Ensure environmental, health and safety compliance through system design, audits and equipment integrity inspections
- Support continuous improvement by identifying optimisation, cost reduction and waste minimisation opportunities
- Provide technical expertise in the design, implementation and commissioning of control systems
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams, contractors and external consultants
- Support project delivery to meet safety, schedule, cost and quality outcomes
- Provide leadership and technical guidance to tradespeople and engineering teams What’s on offer

- Tertiary qualification in Electrical, Control Systems or related Engineering discipline
- Demonstrated experience designing and supporting control systems within heavy industry, mining or process environments
- Solid knowledge of PLC, SCADA and industrial control systems
- Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and enhance asset reliability
- Ability to manage priorities, support projects and deliver practical engineering solutions
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills across multidisciplinary teams About the Location Alcoa operates a range of mines, refineries and smelters across Australia, including bauxite mines in Western Australia, alumina refineries at Kwinana, Pinjarra and Wagerup, and an aluminium smelter in Portland, VIC.
