Overview

We are seeking two experienced Civil Maintenance Workers to maintain the City’s infrastructure, including roads, footpaths and other public assets.

Key Responsibilities Perform drainage works including trenching, pipe laying, backfilling, and compaction. Operate plant on drainage construction sites. Carry out civil maintenance tasks such as kerbing, paving, concrete laying, reticulation, and bitumen repair.

Qualifications and Experience Current unrestricted HR (Heavy Rigid) class driver’s licence. Current Construction Induction Training card (White Card). Basic Worksite Traffic Management accreditation, and ability to acquire accreditation in Traffic Control. Relevant experience in a civil maintenance workplace. Experience in trenching, pipe laying, backfilling, and compaction operations. Experience in the secure and accurate operation of plant on drainage construction sites. Competency with concrete cutters, foot stamper, plate compactor, road‑making plant, and general construction tools and equipment. Knowledge of kerbing, paving, concrete laying, reticulation and bitumen repair techniques, methods and quality control procedures. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications.

Additional Information Salary commences at step 1, with potential progression within the range based on skills and experience. Incremental progression typically occurs at the conclusion of each 12‑month period, in accordance with the Industrial Agreement. All participants will undergo a full pre‑employment medical including drug and alcohol testing.
