Senior Financial Accountant (Sunshine Coast)

Eden Ritchie Recruitment are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to lead financial accounting, reporting and governance functions within a complex organisational environment. This role will play a critical part in delivering statutory financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards and legislation, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the broader finance function. Rate: Circa $90.00 per hour + super Location: Sippy Downs or Petrie Contract Length: 3
- 6 months This position is responsible for leading and coordinating all facets of financial accounting and reporting, including the preparation of annual financial statements, statutory reporting obligations, general ledger management, asset accounting, taxation and investment reporting. The role will also oversee compliance activities, financial controls and governance frameworks while supporting operational and strategic financial outcomes. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the financial reporting team and overseeing day-to-day operations
- Managing month-end processes, reconciliations and financial controls
- Preparing annual financial statements and statutory reporting requirements
- Developing technical accounting position papers and interpreting accounting standards
- Managing compliance with legislative and regulatory obligations
- Supporting audit processes and stakeholder engagement activities
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives and financial process enhancements
- Providing strategic and operational financial advice to internal stakeholders
- Supporting the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and reporting frameworks To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Extensive senior financial accounting and reporting experience within a complex environment
- Strong experience preparing statutory financial statements and managing audit requirements
- Advanced knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, financial controls and compliance
- Proven leadership capability, including team management and workflow oversight
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and process improvement skills
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities
- High-level systems capability including TechnologyOne and Microsoft applications
- Relevant tertiary qualifications together with CPA/CA membership or equivalent Experience within the higher education sector and exposure to TechnologyOne CiA and business analytics/reporting tools will be highly regarded.
