This role is designed for a highly skilled hands-on technician from an automotive, diesel, industrial, mechanical, small engine, generator, marine, plant, Caterpillar or similar engine workshop background who is interested in moving into aviation. You do not need to already be a licensed aircraft engineer. What matters is strong mechanical aptitude, excellent hand skills, engine rebuild or overhaul experience, and the ability to work with precision, cleanliness and care. You will be trained and supported to work in a GA piston engine workshop environment, assisting with inspection, disassembly, cleaning, measuring, troubleshooting, component replacement, reassembly and testing of Lycoming and Continental piston engines. Essential Requirements Required Role Experience: Engine workshop, mechanical, automotive, diesel, industrial, small engine, generator, marine, plant or similar engine repair/rebuild experience. Maintenance Qualification / Licence: Mechanical trade, automotive trade, diesel fitting, plant mechanic, engine technician qualification or equivalent hands-on experience. Work Rights: Australian work rights preferred. Skills: Engine strip-down, inspection, rebuild, repair, diagnostics, component replacement and strong attention to detail. Tools: Ability to use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, dial indicators and torque wrenches highly regarded.
