My client is a national wealth management and advice technology group that supports hundreds of financial advice offices across Australia with the tools, platforms, and infrastructure they need to run secure, compliant businesses. They are rolling out a new monitoring and vulnerability management workplace and are looking for a junior Technology Support & Applications Administrator to own a big piece of that journey. The opportunity You will be the go‑to person helping onboard several hundred end‑user devices across more than 100 offices onto two key platforms: NinjaOne and ConnectSecure. This means real impact from day one: installing agents, cleaning up unused software, scheduling patching, and helping offices understand what is changing and why. You will work closely with an experienced Infrastructure Manager and a highly supportive systems admin, with plenty of guidance and training on the tools. This is not a broad “fix everything IT” role. It is tightly focused on:
- Endpoint monitoring, patching and vulnerability management (Windows 11 desktops and laptops)
- Coordinating remote sessions with offices and installing the right agents and tools
- Reviewing scan results and helping drive remediation through local IT or external MSPs
- Keeping accurate records of what was installed, where, and any issues that were found If all goes well there is a potential pathway to grow into more infrastructure and Level 2 style work, once you build capability and (eventually) pass server exams. What you’ll actually be doing day to day
- Using remote tools (e.g. Zoho Assist) to connect to end‑user devices and install/uninstall software as required
- Deploying and administering NinjaOne and ConnectSecure agents across multiple offices
- Scheduling and monitoring OS and third‑party application patching on endpoints
- Running and reviewing vulnerability scans, then recording and tracking follow‑up actions
- Liaising with office staff and their local IT/MSPs so they handle things like firewalls and networking changes (you’re not their full IT department; you focus on end‑user devices)
- Helping improve onboarding and support materials over time (simple guides, FAQs, short explainer content) You’ll have backup for the tricky conversations – the Infrastructure Manager will step in where there’s pushback or complex risk decisions, so you’re not the frontline for conflict. About you This will suit someone early in their IT career who wants more than a generic helpdesk role and is curious about cybersecurity, patching and real‑world risk. Ideally you have:
- Familiarity with Windows desktop environments (ideally Windows 11 ) and standard business apps
- Some exposure to, or strong interest in, endpoint management / RMM / vulnerability tools (NinjaOne, ConnectSecure, Kaseya or similar)
- Good attention to detail – you’re comfortable following defined processes and documenting what you’ve done
- Clear, friendly communication – you can talk to non‑technical office staff and explain what you’re doing and why
- A genuine interest in building a career in IT support, infrastructure or systems administration (study, certs or home labs all count) The role is pitched as junior, but there is room to pay more for someone who can hit the ground running with RMM/endpoint tools and pick things up quickly.
