Disability Support Worker (Maroochydore)

About the role IMMEDIATE START Best Life Individual Support Services is seeking a compassionate and experienced Disability Support Worker to join our team in the Sunshine Coast area. As a permanent part-time employee, you will play a crucial role in providing personalised support and care to our clients with a disability, empowering them to live their best lives. What you'll be doing
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as community access and participation, meal preparation, and household tasks
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to clients, promoting their independence and wellbeing
- Collaborate with the broader care team to develop and implement tailored support plans
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with company policies and procedures
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance your skills and knowledge
- Supporting our clients towards living their best life and achieving their goals! What we're looking for
- Previous experience working as a Disability Support Worker or in a similar role
- Minimum 12 months experience in disability support or related community care roles
- A Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent qualification
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting individuals with mental health challenges
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to meet the unique needs of each client
- A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable registered vehicle
- Valid driver's licence and comprehensively insured vehicle suitable for client transport
- NDIS Workers Screening, Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid Certificate and CPR certification (renewed within last 12 months)
- Physical capability to perform manual handling tasks and assist clients with mobility
