We're seeking a proactive and capable Inventory Controller to support the warehousing operation at our Banksmeadow site, where your focus will be to undertake and coordinate activities that help our operation maintain an optimal standard of inventory management / control.
**About the Role**
You will manage the end-to-end flow of stock within our busy warehouse environment. From overseeing cycle counts and stock reconciliations, to lead our warehouse operations and ensure our inventory is accurate, well-organised, and optimally managed across the supply chain.
You will be highly systems-driven, with strong IT/computer skills, and thrives on implementing processes that drive accuracy and efficiency. You will also be a transparent communicator who collaborates seamlessly with warehouse, procurement, and customer service teams.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Managing inventory receiving into Mayers.
- Maintaining accurate inventory records using our ERP system.
- Monitoring and improving stock accuracy through regular cycle counts.
- Collaborating with the purchasing, and customer service teams to ensure smooth supply chain flow.
- Developing and implementing processes that reduce handling errors, wastage, and lead times.
- Providing timely reporting on material availability, shortages, and consumption.
- Ensuring correct labelling, storage conditions, and finished products in line with food safety standards.
- Supporting the warehouse team in accurate picking, staging, and dispatch processes.
- Operating a forklift to assist in put away’s and stock rotation.
- Monitoring stock levels, reducing waste, and driving improvements in inventory performance.
- Implementing best practices to minimise write-offs and improve inventory placement.
**About You**
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in a similar inventory management or warehouse operations role.
- Understanding of inventory management principles and logistics.
- Proactive mindset, someone who identifies problems and solves them before they escalate.
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle competing priorities.
- Strong IT/system and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of inventory optimisation, cost control, and quality standards.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Current LF Forklift License.
**Desirable**
- Knowledge of LEAN principles or Six Sigma
- Understanding of food safety, FIFO, and compliance within FMCG environments
- Experience with ERP systems and inventory software
