The practice is seeking to appoint another Medical Receptionist to our fantastic team based in St Peters**.**
We are a growing, busy optometry medical practice with a special interest in just dry eye treatment (no retail). We are seeking a confident individual to join our friendly team for 2 **days** a week casually to start. We are in a growth stage, so opportunity for further hours is likely for a suitable applicant. Ideally you would have fixed days but days may alter slightly during the year.
**Role**
**Tasks include**: Welcoming patients to the practice, obtaining and adding patient information to the computer system Invoicing and receipting through private billing and Medicare through our appointment management system and EFTPOS/HICAPS. Booking/changing appointments
Receiving, triaging and managing patient calls.
Accurate recording and transfer of messages.
Stock control
Clear and effective communication with patients, optometrists, management and other health professionals at all times with both verbal and written forms
Maintaining management of softcopy patient recording system
Administering treatments under the supervision of the attending optometrist.
Being able to genuinely work as part of a team structure, as well as show initiative and effectively utilise your time when working on your own.

Patience and empathy and the ability to maintain practice/patient confidentiality
High level of computer literacy and demonstration of organisational and administrative skills
Ability to problem solve and use initiative on a day to day basis
**The practice is in a growth period, so the ability to switch to current protocols and procedures with little notice as well as the ability to embrace to a more demanding role is essential.**The current role will support one optometrist on the given day, but expansion will see you work with multiple staff members during your work days.
**Renumeration**
- Hourly renumeration In line with Health Professional & Support Services Level 1, casual rate
- The practice closes for 2 weeks over Christmas and for short breaks through the year. Your 2 week holiday during the year by approval from the Practice Manager and Princial Optometrist
