Teacher Aide Yandaran State School Maryborough

Yandaran State School is looking for someone special and passionate to join our team as a Teacher Aide. This role offers the prospect to expand your skills across library services, classroom support and the coordination of a small playgroup for local under school aged children. This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.29FTE), 22 hours per fortnight, for a period of 6 months unless otherwise determined.

About Our School

We are a small school 30 minutes drive from Bundaberg. We have a small number of staff and we work very closely together for the benefit of all the students. Our small school is well equipped with up to date resources. All our students, from the youngest prep students through to our fine young adolescent year 6 students, are nurtured and cared for by experienced staff who have genuine empathy with the young. Yandaran State School is a place where relationships matter, where caring for and knowing our students as individuals are two of our core values. Your Prospect

As the Teacher Aide you will contribute to the provision of a quality educational service by assisting and supporting teachers with the preparation and enhancement of learning materials and associated activities.

The Teacher Aide reports to the Principal or nominated delegate as appropriate. The reporting relationship to teachers may be changed by the Principal on a regular basis to fulfil specific needs within the school.

When supporting students with specific health procedures, a Teacher Aide will be under the direct or indirect supervision of a registered nurse or medical practitioner.

Responsibilities

Access and manage library resources: accession recent books, remove old books, and lend books to students (includes covering and adding books to our library system), or be willing to receive on‐job training.

Initiate and run a weekly playgroup at the school.

Communicate effectively and display high level of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member.
