Butcher (Full-Time) Mawson ACT Position: 1 Requirements:
- Holds Certificate III level qualification.
- The ability to stand for extended periods.
- The ability to work under pressure.
- The ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Patient and detail-oriented. Responsibilities:
- Cut, trim, debone, tie, and grind meats such as beef, poultry, and lamb to prepare them for cooking.
- Arrange and display meat cuts and products in an attractive manner to catch shoppers' attention.
- Prepare special meat cuts as ordered by customers.
- Shape, lace, and tie roasts using boning knives, skewers, and twine.
- Total sales and collect payments from customers.
- Wrap, weigh, label, and price meat cuts.
- Estimate needs and order meat supplies to maintain inventory levels.
- Negotiate order details with supply company representatives.
- Receive, inspect, and store meat deliveries to ensure quality.
- Record the quantities of meat received and issued, and maintain records of meat sales.
- Supervise other butchers and meat cutters.
- Prepare and make sausages, including using machines to grind, mix, mince, and tenderize meat.
- Operate sausage filling machines.
