- 5 May 2026 > 2 Jun 2026 Summary Our client, Marrakech Restaurant in North Adelaide, blends rich Moroccan heritage with a deep commitment to authentic flavours and warm hospitality. Drawing from traditions shaped by Berber and Arab influences, the restaurant celebrates Morocco’s vibrant cuisine, distinctive spices, and cultural warmth. Our client is seeking to add a Chef who can uphold these traditions while delivering beautifully presented Moroccan dishes. The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Planning menus, estimating food and costs, and ordering food supplies
- Assessing food quality, ensuring fresh ingredients are serve to customers
- Understanding kitchen equipment, checking temperatures of heating equipment such as ovens and grills
- Cooking food and taking responsibility of making Asian dishes
- Tasting food while cooking, applying suitable amount of seasoning for a favourable flavour
- Placing food on plate with proper portion and beautiful presentation by adding sauce or eatable garnishes to make food appetitive
- Storing food at appropriate storage space to keep food fresh as well as to prevent from Cross contamination
- Preparing cooking ingredients, and cutting food into required size
- Understanding customers' special dining requirements to meet individual need
- Complying with the food hygiene regulations
- Providing training to fellow staff and new kitchen staff. Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:
- Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or higher in a relevant discipline is essential.
- At least three years of full-time experience cooking in a professional kitchen environment.
- Strong knowledge of Moroccan cuisine, spices, ingredients and traditional preparation methods.
- Ability to train and supervise kitchen staff while maintaining high performance standards.
- Demonstrated experience managing stock, ordering supplies and reducing kitchen waste.
- Capability to design, adjust and execute menus aligned with Moroccan culinary traditions.
- Commitment to maintaining strict food safety, hygiene and presentation expectations.
- Strong organisational skills ensuring efficient workflow during busy service periods.
