The Opportunity Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Senior Structural / Temporary Works Engineer to join our Melbourne or Adelaide team. This role offers the opportunity to lead the design, coordination, and delivery of both temporary and permanent structural works across a diverse portfolio of projects, including transport infrastructure, tunnelling, bridges, marine, buildings, and stadiums. You will contribute across all stages of the project lifecycle, from concept design through to construction, while working alongside experienced professionals across engineering disciplines. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, mentoring others, and delivering practical engineering solutions in a collaborative environment. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Leading the design and delivery of structural and temporary works solutions, including calculations, drawings, technical documentation, and specifications.
- Managing engineering deliverables across multiple projects to ensure alignment with scope, budget, program, and quality requirements.
- Conducting site inspections, assessments, and construction support activities to ensure practical, safe, and cost-effective outcomes.
- Mentoring and supporting less experienced team members to foster their technical growth and capability development.
- Establishing, maintaining, and fostering quality relationships with clients to ensure their requirements and expectations are met.
- Supporting project management tasks including scope definition, scheduling, resourcing, and coordination.
- Ensuring all engineering work complies with relevant Australian Standards and safety legislation.
- Contributing to innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across temporary works and structural engineering practices. About you: You are a proactive and solutions-focused engineer with strong technical capability, sound engineering judgement, and practical construction knowledge. You thrive in collaborative environments, communicate confidently with clients and project teams, and take pride in delivering high-quality engineering outcomes. You will bring
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- 6–10 years of experience in structural and/or temporary works engineering.
- A strong mix of design and site-based experience across different project stages.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as SpaceGass, RAPT, Strand7 or other similar software.
- Strong working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, including AS 1170, AS 3600, AS 4100, and AS 3610.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
- Experience in project or design management is highly preferable
- CPEng accreditation or expected to obtain within 6 months.
- A valid Construction White Card and full working rights in Australia.
