The Role
Newkey Consulting is seeking experienced Trade Assistants to support Licensed Gas Fitters, working at an industrial site in Melbourne’s inner-west. This role offers the opportunity to work with recent emerging technology, supporting installation, maintenance, and inspection of gas infrastructure and associated equipment. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys working in technical environments and contributing to safe and productive site operations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist Licensed Gas Fitters with installation, maintenance, and inspection of gas systems and associated pipework.
Work collaboratively with other tradespeople, machine operators, engineers, and other site personnel.
Maintain clean and organised work areas.
About You
Essential: Experience working as a Trade Assistant or Mechanical TA, with pressurised pipe systems or gas infrastructure.
Essential: A strong commitment to workplace safety and following procedures.
Essential: Good mechanical aptitude, communication skills and a positive team player.
Highly regarded: Mechanical or trade-related background.
Highly regarded: Experience in steel manufacturing or gas infrastructure environments.
Highly regarded: Forklift license, or other relevant industrial site tickets.
