- Editor, you will play a crucial role in the Victorian justice system by managing, editing, and preparing vital audiovisual evidence for court. Working within a specialized team, you will ensure evidence is court-compatible, support cutting-edge courtroom technologies like the Electronic Jury Book system, and help guide legal teams, prosecutors, and judicial staff on how to best utilize prosecution technology. Key Responsibilities:
- Evidence Preparation: Identify, convert, ingest, and edit AV evidence using non-linear editing systems to ensure seamless, court-compatible delivery (DVD-Video/agnostic MP4).
- Technology Training: Support the delivery and training of the Electronic Jury Book system, providing guidance to prosecution, defense, and judicial staff.
- Systems Support: Assist the AV Technical Specialist in configuring and maintaining specialized OPP-AV computing hardware, software, and automated publishing systems.
- Event & Court Setup: Set up and dismantle AV equipment across the office and various court locations, including conference rooms, remote link rooms, and video productions.
- Continuous Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends and advancements introduced by Victoria Police and external stakeholders to continuously improve team workflows. About You : To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience operating non-linear editing workstations—specifically Avid Media Composer, Adobe Photoshop, Root6 Technologies Content Agent, and Rimage automated publishing systems. Familiarity with Avid Interplay and Mosyle MDM software is highly regarded.
- Well-developed communication skills with the ability to confidently liaise with, train, and provide clear technical advice to a diverse range of stakeholders (OPP staff, senior management, Prosecutors, counsel, and police).
- The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet strict court deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
- A proven track record of working effectively and cooperatively within a small, specialized technical team.
- A proactive attitude toward developing personal skills, refining system processes, and exploring new workflows.
