About the role
We’re growing and seeking an experienced Linux Developer to join our Embedded & Multimedia team in a full-time, permanent role based in Melbourne (hybrid: 3 days in office). You’ll develop software for IoT devices, delivering secure, end-to-end video solutions from device to cloud, with a robust focus on evidence integrity for law enforcement use.
Your profile
You enjoy building Linux-based device software and integrating it into secure, large-scale systems. You’ll develop and maintain C/C++ (plus Go/Rust) applications on embedded Linux, focusing on device agents, telemetry, secure data handling, and compliance. The role covers the full lifecycle—from design to deployment—working closely with backend and QA teams.
You’ll also handle device provisioning, identity, telemetry, and reliable data transfer across intermittent networks. Experience with video or AI is helpful but not essential; robust Linux systems and secure device knowledge are key.
Essential skills
Robust C/C++ and familiarity with Go/Rust
Embedded Linux development experience
Multithreading and long-running services
Secure device communication and provisioning
Experience with telemetry, reliability, and intermittent networks
Linux tools, debugging, and scripting (Python/shell)
Agile teamwork
Security (secure boot, encryption, key storage)
Video tools (GStreamer, FFmpeg) and standards
Networking, databases, containers, CI/CD
Troubleshooting and performance optimisation
