Civil Engineering Technician (North Melbourne)

**About the Role**

We are seeking a Full Time Civil Engineering Technician to deal with the technical elements of projects, managing the budget, working with suppliers, creating delivery schedules for materials and machinery. They also act as a liaison between construction and engineering employees, ensuring all workers on the job are aware of the needs, constraints and deadlines of the project.

Duties include:

- Assist with data management such as quantities and volumes
- Estimating material costs and ensuring finished works are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions
- Inspect civil works and organise and supervise maintenance and repair work
- Collecting and analysing data, and carrying out computations
- Conducting field and laboratory tests of construction materials and soils, and collecting data for traffic surveys
- Testing and evaluating construction materials
- Outlining work programs and reviewing these for accuracy, adequacy and feasibility
- Setting up technical instruments used to collect data (geotechnical)
- Inspect civil works and organise and supervise maintenance and repair work

**Skills & Experience**
- Diploma or higher qualification in a field highly relevant to Civil Engineering, Engineering Drafting
- Civil Design or related engineering field.
- 2+ years of construction and design related experience preferably within the hiring firm’s field
- Proven experience in an engineering workplace.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Clean police record,
- General Construction Induction (White Card)
- In depth understanding of OH&S; regulations
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously

**Salary**

Salary range between $74,000
- $84,000 plus superannuation, depending on relevant qualifications and experience.

Pay: $74,000.00
- $84,000.00 per year
