About the role:An exciting opportunity exists for a Security and Events Services Officer to join Victoria Police's People Development Command (PDC) within the Security and Events Services Unit, part of the Business Services Division.The role contributes to building the skills and capabilities of Victoria Police employees by supporting a safe, secure, and well-functioning environment at the Victoria Police Academy.The Security and Events Services Unit operates 24/7 and acts as the primary contact point for all visitors, ensuring the smooth running of the site. Responsibilities include:Initial incident response and coordinationMonitoring alarms and CCTV systemsCarrying out fire warden dutiesConducting ID and vehicle checksPerforming patrols (internal and external)Managing operational equipment and fleet vehiclesSupporting events held at the AcademyThe position requires working rostered shifts, including weekends and public holidays, with applicable shift allowances. Flexible working arrangements may be supportedVictoria Police is a contemporary and agile workplace and supports flexible working arrangements.Your duties will include:Assist with any security or emergency situations within the complexPerform foot patrols when requiredAssist with the management of the Command's fleet vehicles and coordinate equipment allocationEnsure enquiries from members of the public and staff are professionally and expeditiously attended toAssist with telephone and counter enquiries from all clients, both internal and external, in a courteous and professional mannerAssist with the organisation of events, appointments and meetings conducted at the AcademyUndertake a range of administrative functions to support the Division including computerised activities and data processingPerform the function of deputy fire warden at the Academy (training provided if required)Support other business units within the Business Services Division when requiredAbout You:The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:Ability to manage competing demands and be highly organisedExperience in a similar role (desirable but not essential)Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively with a wide range of personnelAbility to manage workload and prioritise tasks with minimal supervisionStrong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve issues quicklyFurther Information:One (1) full-time, ongoing position availableLocated at Victoria Police Academy, 1 View Mount Road, Glen WaverleyRequires shift work (including rostered hours)Must hold a current Victorian Driver's LicencePre-employment checks required (e.g. fingerprint checks and misconduct screening)Applications must include a cover letter, resume and completed application formApplicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.We expect our people to foster a safe and inclusive environment where their behaviour and attitude reflects, builds upon and promotes a positive and collaborative workplace that respects the culture and values of Victoria Police.Your application must include:ResumeCompleted application form
