Aspart of Banyule Leisure’s aquatic programs team, you’ll deliver engagingswimming and water safety lessons in a supportive and community-focusedenvironment. You’ll play an important role in creating a positive andchild-safe learning experience while adapting lessons to support participantsof different ages and abilities. What you’ll do
- Deliver swimming, water safety, survival skills,rescue techniques and stroke development programs across Banyule Leisurefacilities
- Supervise classes to ensure the safety andwellbeing of all participants in a child-safe environment
- Assess participant ability levels and adaptlessons to support individual learning needs
- Build positive relationships with participantsand families, while maintaining records, equipment, training and qualificationrequirements What you'll bring/what we are looking for We’re looking for enthusiastic, community-minded Swim Instructorspassionate about helping people build confidence and safety in the water.You’ll bring strong communication and class management skills, a positive andflexible approach, and the ability to create engaging and safe learningenvironments for children and participants of all abilities. You’ll have:
- Experience working within a Learn to SwimProgram (desirable).
- Excellent class management and safety managementskills.
- Demonstrated understanding of how to work withchildren.
- Demonstrated understanding of the need forflexibility in approach.
- Demonstrate commitment to our values.
- Must hold all mandatory qualifications (aslisted below/in the PD). Mandatory Qualifications:
- Swim and Water Safety Teacher Qualification(essential)
- Level 2 First Aid (Apply First Aid). Pre-employment requirements
- Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check(NCCHC)
- Current Working with Children’s Check
- Pre-Employment Medical Check We offer:

- Salary range $70,306.14
- $73,767.30 forcomparison at full time ($35.58 to $37.33 per hour), excluding super,dependent on experience
- Primary work location Ivanhoe Aquatic
