- Attendance: 3 days per week.
- School holiday attendance is required for maintenance and project work.

- Will typically work beyond the work area or professional field.
- Some degree of latitude to determine how targets and goals are achieved, within standard procedures and school policy. Responsibilities
- Coordinate the use and maintenance of school buildings and equipment.
- Liaise and negotiate with service providers in respect to the cost and quality of services.
- Supervise the delivery of contracted services.
- Manage the development and collection of resource material at the school. Role Overview The Maintenance and Facilities Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the school’s buildings, grounds and infrastructure are maintained to a high standard, supporting a safe, functional and welcoming learning environment. Working under the direction of the Business Manager and Principal, the role combines hands‑on maintenance duties with coordination of contractors, minor works and compliance requirements. The position requires strong organisational skills, initiative and the ability to work collaboratively within a school environment. Key Responsibilities 1. Maintenance Coordination
- Coordinate and respond to day‑to‑day maintenance requests across the school.
- Arrange and supervise contractors and trades for repair works.
- Monitor completion of works to ensure quality and timeliness.
- Respond to urgent maintenance issues and escalated where required.
- Maintain a forward schedule of planned maintenance activities.
- Assist with mandatory inspections and compliance checks (e.g. essential safety measures).
- Contractor & Service Management
- Engage external contractors in line with school procurement processes.
- Obtain and assess quotes for maintenance and repair works.
- Coordinate access to the site and ensure minimal disruption to school operations.
- Monitor contractor performance and completion of agreed works.
- Maintain accurate records of contractor engagement and services, ensuring contractor compliance.
- Facilities Projects & Minor Works
- Coordinate minor capital works and school‑funded improvement projects.
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders including leadership, contractors and external providers.
- Support delivery of projects within agreed timelines and budgets.
- Assist with planning and implementation of facility upgrades and refurbishments.
- Financial & Administrative Support
- Support the development and monitoring of the school’s maintenance budget.
- Raise purchase orders and track expenditure in line with DET financial processes.
- Process invoices and ensure accurate record keeping.
- Maintain documentation relating to works, contracts and services agreements.
- Provide reports and updates to the Business Manager and Principal as required.
- Grounds & Outdoor Maintenance
- Maintain gardens and landscaped areas, including irrigation systems.
- Ensure outdoor areas are safe, clean and well presented.
- Support waste management and recycling processes.
- Other Tasks as Requested by Principal
- Assist with school events (e.g. setting up furniture, equipment, staging).
- Maintain tools, equipment and maintenance areas in a safe and organised manner. Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating maintenance services or facilities in a complex environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience in contractor engagement and oversight.
- High level communication and interpersonal skills.
