Physical SOC Lead, AWS Security (Melbourne)

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a motivated individual to serve as AWS Physical Security Operations Centre (PSOC) Lead. The role focuses on employing physical security strategies and procedures in accordance with service level agreements, handling physical security events, and managing security operations across AWS infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Employ physical security strategies and procedures in line with AWS security processes.
- Respond to physical security events affecting or threatening AWS physical infrastructure, associates, operations, and assets region‑wide.
- Conduct daily activities such as physical access control administration, monitoring access control systems, monitoring a contracted guard force, and alarm and incident response.
- Prepare detailed reports, gather intelligence, and distribute program‑wide notifications when necessary.
- Manage internal and external email and phone communications, triage trouble tickets, handle incoming queries, and provide technical support to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain professional judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in an workplace dealing with sensitive information.
- Continually identify ways to improve and raise the bar for physical security. Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of Physical Security Operations Centre monitoring and incident response experience.
- Certificate IV in Security and Risk Management or Security Risk Analysis or equivalent.
- Demonstrable experience in developing Concept of Operations and Standard Operating Procedure documentation. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with physical security control and surveillance systems.
- Experience with research and investigation skills or equivalent.
- Experience in administrative tasks such as data entry, managing data‑driven report processes, or similar processes.
