- Full Time Location: VIC: Melbourne Job Description Location: Alphington, Victoria Salary: Circa $75k + Super Job Type: Full-Time | Monday to Friday Start Date: July 2026 About The Role Cater Care is seeking Expressions of Interest for a Second Chef to support the Head Chef in delivering high-quality, high-volume catering. This is a hands‑on role with opportunity to develop leadership capability while working in a structured, supportive environment. You will be involved in daily kitchen operations, staff support, and maintaining consistent food quality and service standards. - Overseeing kitchen operations, staff supervision, training, and rosters
- Performing all aspects of kitchen work, including bulk cooking and tray service
- Preparing high-volume meals to specification with consistent quality and presentation
- Managing stock, ordering, rotation, cost control, and waste reduction
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, WHS, and cleanliness standards
- Acting as a liaison between Front of House and kitchen teams Desired Skills and Experience
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (preferred or willing to obtain upon commencement)
- Previous experience as a Chef or Second Chef in a similar setting
- Strong organisation, multitasking, and time‑management skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to support team coordination
