The Opportunity As a Cook, you’ll assist with preparing high-quality, nutritious meals that enhance the daily lives of our residents. Working in a supportive environment, you’ll follow menu plans, dietary requirements, and food safety standards, whilst having the opportunity to build meaningful connections with residents. We are currently opening Expressions of Interest (EOI) for Part Time or Casual Cooks to join our team across our Melbourne East locations. - Prepare, cook, and present meals that meet quality and presentation standards
- Follow pre-set menu plans while accommodating dietary needs and preferences
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen in line with food safety requirements
- Support stock control, food storage, and waste minimisation practices
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Build meaningful connections with residents, fostering a sense of community and belonging What You'll Bring
- Previous Kitchenhand, Cook or Chef in a similar setting (e.g. hospitality or commercial kitchens)
- Ability to follow set menus and adapt meals to meet dietary requirements
- Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in connecting with residents
- Enthusiasm for working in retirement living and making a positive impact
- Minimum of two (2) COVID-19 vaccinations (required)
- Certificate in Commercial Cookery (or similar) and/or Food Safety certification (desirable) What We Offer
- Casual Rate: From $35.78/hr including casual loading+ superannuation + relevant award entitlements including penalty rates, overtime and allowances
- Part time Rate: From $28.62/hr + superannuation + relevant award entitlements including penalty rates, overtime and allowances
