Position Summary / Objectives of Incumbent Provide post‑sales engineering review and support for won projects in Australian and Recent Zealand. Offer guidance and expertise on critical infrastructure projects, including application and installation of Vertiv products and services, and support with approved third‑party vendors and internal teams to enable smooth deployment of major projects undertaken by the business. Responsibilities
- Document package transfer in/out: attend the hand‑over process from pre‑ to post‑sales teams once a project is won or highly likely; facilitate the document package and transfer process for projects moving from post‑sales to project management.
- ICA technical reviews: interrogate documentation to ensure buildability, budget compliance, fault‑level compliance, protection coordination, thermal performance, and discrimination study; review all aspects of the proposal from statement of compliance through to commissioning and hand‑over, including provision of training and documentation requirements to the customer.
- Engineering re‑estimate: after the technical review, engage with partners, contractors, and vendors to guarantee the most cost‑effective and technically sound solution has been selected by the pre‑sales teams; work with product managers, service teams, and source factories (where required) to ensure the best possible solution is chosen.
- Technical submittals post‑purchase‑order: attend all project meetings ensuring that scope of supply, technical qualifications, and testing procedures and programmes are understood by Vertiv associates, contractors, other vendors, and the customer; assist with ownership of the project through to delivery, commissioning, and hand‑over; ensure a thorough hand‑over process to project management when units arrive in country.
- Site and as‑built drawing management: maintain a comprehensive documentation register for all project files and upload latest revisions to the company server; check new revisions for details affecting Vertiv’s scope of supply and communicate impacts to technical, cost, and schedule teams for customer and sales/project management change management; provide a completed set of project documentation to the project management team upon delivery for client hand‑over.
- Technical procurement specification: prepare a detailed scope of supply for procurement when Vertiv contractors and vendors are required to perform work; enable procurement to obtain quotations and manage vendor tensions; eliminate overlapping or missing scopes to reduce risks of double‑ups or variations.
- Scope changes: liaise with sales and project managers to capture all site, scope, and testing deviations from the original submission; provide variation documentation to prevent erosion of margin.
- Drawings: coordinate as‑built drawings with the PSA team, ensuring they are developed and updated for site hand‑over.
- Site commissioning coordination: engage early with site commissioning teams to understand site requirements and advise Vertiv’s position; collaborate with service and PM teams for comprehensive understanding; work with the commissioning engineer to develop detailed test scripts aligned with customer requirements and the compliance statement; identify gaps and propose uplifts; be available on site to support service and project management; collect test results and service FSRs for hand‑over documentation pack.
- Continuous improvement: after each project, develop lessons learned with project managers and review with the PSA team to enhance future submissions.
- WHS, environment & quality: comply with all work, health & safety, environment, and quality obligations; actively promote safety in the workplace. Education / Qualification
- Recognised technical qualifications in Electrical Engineering. Specialist Knowledge
- Market knowledge of mission‑critical power infrastructure, including application, installation, commissioning, testing, and communications connectivity.
- Familiarity with tender processes and how to match products to requirements.
- In‑depth understanding of Australian and international standards framework and industry codes – AS/NZS 3000:2018, AS/NZS 3008.1.1:2025, AS/NZS 61439.1:2016, AS/NZS 61439.2:2016, IEC 61439‑1:2011, IEC 61439‑2:2011.
- Knowledge of mission‑critical electrical industry and products. Practical Experience
- 5+ years in low‑voltage switch‑gear applications, preferably in mission‑critical or data‑center environments.
- Market knowledge of power products including LVSG application.
- Understanding of suppliers and applications of metering, CTs, monitoring, circuit breakers, etc.
- Experience with multi‑panel switchboards, assembly, construction, and build styles up to 3500 A.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings and design specifications; technical writing; English presentation skills.
- Acad drawing skills an advantage. Personal Characteristics
