About the Chance

This is a rare chance to step into a senior culinary leadership role at one of Melbourne's most exciting newly opened hospitality venues. This role plays a key part in refining standards, leading the team and continuing to shape the culinary direction of The Angel of Malvern.

Working closely with our senior leadership team, you'll play a pivotal role in driving quality, consistency and performance across all kitchen operations. You'll bring strong leadership, creativity and operational expertise, fostering a high-performance kitchen culture built on respect, accountability and excellence.

What You'll Do

Lead and oversee day-to-day kitchen operations Deliver consistent, high-quality food across all services Refine and execute menus in line with the venue's direction Train, mentor and manage kitchen team performance Maintain exceptional food safety, hygiene and Work Health and Safety (WHS) standards Manage stock control, ordering, wastage and food costs Oversee prep planning, service flow and kitchen organisation Build a positive, motivated and professional kitchen culture

About You

You're an experienced, hands-on kitchen leader who leads by example. You take pride in both people development and operational excellence.

You'll also bring: 5+ years experience in skilled commercial kitchens Proven experience as a Junior Sous Chef or Sous Chef Robust leadership and communication skills A calm, structured approach under pressure A sound understanding of Australia food safety and WHS requirements Availability across nights, weekends and rotating rosters
