This is a permanent part‑time (0.6 FTE) position commencing as soon as possible. Southern Cross District High School (SCDHS), located in the Eastern Wheatbelt, provides high quality education and a holistic approach for our 50 students from Kindergarten to Year 10. Our small student population enables our dedicated team to get to know our students and families and offer a personalised learning environment, whilst also providing curriculum that is relevant and meets the needs of our students. As a key member, you’ll be instrumental in maintaining the school grounds, ensuring they are safe, tidy, and conducive to a positive setting for both students and staff. From overseeing the turf areas, garden beds, and shrubs to managing hard landscaping features like courts and paving, you’ll play a vital role in creating an inviting and inspiring outdoor space. Your commitment to maintaining gardening facilities, equipment, and tools in a good condition will be integral to promoting a positive culture within the school. Collaborate with the Manager of Corporate Services to develop safe work procedures, undertake risk assessments, and ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) legislation. - Obtain a valid Working with Children Check.
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
