Description
This is a permanent part‑time (0.6 FTE) position commencing as soon as possible. Southern Cross District High School (SCDHS), located in the Eastern Wheatbelt, provides high quality education and a holistic approach for our 50 students from Kindergarten to Year 10. Our small student population enables our dedicated team to get to know our students and families and offer a personalised learning environment, whilst also providing curriculum that is relevant and meets the needs of our students. For more information about our school please watch the video below. The Role Join our team as a Gardener – Handyperson and contribute to fostering a positive learning environment. As a key member, you’ll be instrumental in maintaining the school grounds, ensuring they are safe, tidy, and conducive to a positive setting for both students and staff. From overseeing the turf areas, garden beds, and shrubs to managing hard landscaping features like courts and paving, you’ll play a vital role in creating an inviting and inspiring outdoor space. Your commitment to maintaining gardening facilities, equipment, and tools in a good condition will be integral to promoting a positive culture within the school. Collaborate with the Manager of Corporate Services to develop safe work procedures, undertake risk assessments, and ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) legislation. - Obtain a valid Working with Children Check.
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
