This is a unique opportunity for a highly skilled Commercial Registered Building Practitioner to lead the technical, compliance, and project delivery aspects of all commercial building insurance works. The role involves ensuring projects meet legislative standards, Australian Standards, and client expectations, while working closely with the Construction Manager and reporting to the General Manager. - Act as the nominated Registered Building Practitioner (Commercial) for all relevant projects
- Ensure all works comply with the Building Act, Regulations and relevant Australian Standards
- Oversee building permit applications, inspections, and occupancy approvals
- Provide expert technical advice and resolve complex construction issues
- Review plans, scopes, and specifications for buildability and compliance
- Manage project risks and ensure all works adhere to regulatory and contractual obligations
- Support the delivery of projects by overseeing site supervision, quality, and safety
- Conduct site inspections and mandatory reviews at key project stages
- Drive accountability for workmanship, program delivery, and site performance
- Coordinate with insurance providers, clients, consultants, and subcontractors to maintain strong stakeholder relationships
- Manage project budgets, variations, and financial performance metrics
- Monitor project delivery against KPIs, SLAs, and continuous improvement goals
- Lead, mentor, and develop Supervisors and site teams to support a positive workplace culture The Ideal Candidate:
- Fully registered Commercial Builder with proven experience in commercial construction projects
- Strong knowledge of Australian building legislation, standards, and compliance practices
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing teams and project workflows
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities
