Maintenance Supervisor - Afternoon Shift (Melbourne)

About the Role The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for implementing the maintenance system for the Laverton site by supporting and supervising the maintenance team in their day-to-day tasks. The Supervisor will also provide assistance to key operational employees and supervisors across the site with regards to maintenance issues, and collaborate with operations and procurement on local deployment of maintenance programs and operational excellence methodologies. The hours for this role are Monday to Friday 2 pm
- 10 pm, with an afternoon shift allowance. Key Responsibilities
- Implement and supervise cyclical maintenance programs and tasks
- Provide a timely response to reactive maintenance requests and effect repairs to facilitate continuity of operations
- Support and implement preventative maintenance programs
- Supervise maintenance employees and model safety in the workplace
- Communicate and drive implementation of WHSE initiatives, improvements and corrective actions for work areas
- Meet KPIs set for delivery across the site and implement systems and processes to facilitate achievement of performance targets
- Monitor performance, competency and capability of people in agreed roles
- Coach and mentor employees to build capability
- Record training completions for maintenance operators and ensure training plans are updated
- Apply sound people management practices and problem‑solving techniques to build capability of employees to meet current and future business needs Qualifications
- A trade qualification or relevant qualification in Production Manufacturing (highly desirable)
- At least 3 years of experience in Maintenance, Production Manufacturing or similar background, preferably in heavy manufacturing
- Experience in a frontline leadership role with demonstrated leadership skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated experience applying knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
- Demonstrated commitment to safety leadership with experience implementing safety systems
