About the Facility Macleod Aged Care is a 52–bed residential aged care home in Macleod, Melbourne, close to public transport and local amenities. The home offers comfortable accommodation, communal lounges and a supportive, community‑focused care team. We are looking to join our aged care team at Macleod Aged Care, in a (casual) capacity. About the Role We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Cleaner / Laundry Assistant to join our aged care team. In this hands‑on role, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable workplace for residents while also ensuring laundry services are delivered to a high standard. This is a fast‑paced, varied role ideal for someone who enjoys staying active, working as part of a supportive team, and making a meaningful difference every day. What You Will Be Doing
- Perform general cleaning duties including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and sanitising surfaces
- Clean and maintain resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas
- Wash, dry, fold, and distribute residents’ clothing and facility linen
- Ensure correct handling, sorting, and labelling of laundry items
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, infection control, and cleanliness at all times
- Manage waste disposal and restocking of cleaning and laundry supplies
- Operate cleaning and laundry equipment safely and efficiently
- Work collaboratively with care and hospitality teams to support a homely environment What You Will Bring
- Previous experience in cleaning or laundry (preferred but not essential)
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment
- Good time management and ability to follow routines and procedures
- Physical capability to perform manual handling tasks
- Reliable, positive, and team‑focused attitude
- Understanding of hygiene and infection control practices (or willingness to learn)
