Design & Build are seeking a Leading Hand Carpenter to join an architecturally driven residential builder based in Melbourne’s inner suburbs. Our client is a well established builder delivering bespoke residential current builds, renovations, and extensions valued up to $3m. With a robust pipeline of projects currently underway and more due to begin, they are looking to expand their team.

They are looking for a Leading Hand who is skilled in carpentry and happy to be on the tools while assisting the Site Manager to ensure the day-to-day operations run smoothly. This role has a view to progress within the business, making it ideal for someone looking to really take the lead within the company.

Responsibilities Assisting in leading in‑house carpenters and subcontractors across multiple sites Planning daily and weekly tasks, allocating work, and monitoring progress Ordering and coordinating materials, tools, and equipment deliveries Maintaining site safety, compliance, and cleanliness Liaising with suppliers and the internal team Representing the builder professionally to clients, consultants, and trades Contributing on the tools as required to support your team and drive progress
