Practice Head, Solution Architecture Melbourne

This is a permanent full time role based in Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney) or Naarm (Melbourne).

What You'll Do

Lead, develop and grow a high-performing team of Solution Architects

Set and assure solution architecture quality, standards and practices across Retail Technology

Ensure architects are effectively deployed to highest-priority initiatives and squads

Partner closely with Enterprise Architecture to translate strategic direction into delivery-ready designs

Embed solution architecture early into agile planning and delivery cycles

Resolve architectural trade-offs, risks and escalations across platforms and squads

Provide governance, reporting and insights across architecture, risk and delivery performance

What You'll Bring

Proven experience leading Solution Architects or senior technical professionals in large enterprises

Solid solution architecture background within digital, retail or customer-facing platforms (FS/insurance ideal)

Ability to assess and uplift design quality without being hands‐on day to day

Experience operating at the intersection of enterprise architecture and agile delivery

Deep understanding of contemporary architectures (cloud, API‐first, event‐driven, digital experience layers)

Robust stakeholder engagement skills with senior technology and business leaders

Experience working in regulated environments with sound governance and commercial acumen
