One of Melbourne's oldest and most respected transport and logistics businesses is seeking a hands‐on and solutions‐focused Property Maintenance
Officer to support the ongoing maintenance, safety and presentation of its operational sites. Operating for more than 120 years, the business provides container transport, quarantine warehousing, warehousing and distribution, and heavy machinery relocation services across multiple industrial depots. This is a varied and practical role responsible for coordinating repairs, contractor management, site presentation, safety‐related corrective actions and general property maintenance across multiple operational environments. The position plays an important role in ensuring depots remain safe, compliant, secure and operationally effective. Key Responsibilities Coordinate day‐to‐day maintenance and repairs across depot facilities, including gates, fencing, lighting, signage, plumbing, electrical and general building repairs; Arrange contractors, quotes, site access and maintenance works; Monitor the quality and completion of maintenance activities; Coordinate corrective actions arising from audits, inspections, hazards and incidents; Maintain contractor records, maintenance registers and compliance documentation; Support depot security infrastructure including cameras, access control, alarms and fencing; Coordinate maintenance support for plant and operational equipment; Manage depot consumables, emergency readiness items and housekeeping improvements; Liaise with depot managers, contractors and operational teams to minimise disruption and maintain safe operations. About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring: Experience coordinating maintenance, facilities, property or operational support activities; Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks; A practical and hands‐on approach with strong problem‐solving ability; Experience managing contractors and coordinating maintenance works; A strong commitment to safety and compliance; Good computer skills including Microsoft Outlook and Excel; Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels; Experience within transport, logistics, warehousing or industrial environments will be highly regarded, as will trade, facilities management or maintenance‐related experience.
