Cook/Chef Brunswick (Melbourne)

Responsibilities Prepare a range of high-quality meals for our customers Help design new menu items Help estimate stock requirements Streamline processes between our wait staff and kitchen staff Duties Clean food preparation areas, maintain hygiene standards, regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment Set up staff workstations with the necessary ingredients and cooking equipment Prepare cooking ingredients (measure ingredients, chop and peel vegetables and cut meat) Inspect food items to guarantee quality Maintain customer expectations and accommodate guests with allergies Monitor ingredient quality for freshness and store in temperature‐controlled facilities Monitor stock levels and place orders Liaise with front‐of‐house staff to ensure they serve hot food Operate kitchen appliances and cooking apparatus Portion food, place it on plates, and add gravies, sauces and garnishes according to expectations Supervise and train other kitchen staff and apprentices What we're looking for Experience in a busy restaurant with excellent food A team player with a positive and qualified communication style A cook with a passion for Italian cuisine Exceptional attention to detail Adherence to health and safety standards Skills and Qualifications Certificate IV in commercial cookery At least 1 year Experience as a Cook Ability to work Full Time Adaptable to work on a rotating roster Three current referees required Job Type: Full time Pay: $75,****** – $80,****** per year Work Location: In person #J-*****-Ljbffr Apply on Kit Job: kitjobau.com/job/3rerfa
