Solution Architect - Digital / Online (Melbourne)

Solution Architect – Mobile Platform We’re looking for a hands‑on Solution Architect to lead the design of our mobile platform and supporting services. The role is collaborative, working shoulder‑to‑shoulder with engineers and delivery teams to shape solutions that balance quality, performance and delivery outcomes. Responsibilities
- Design and evolve solution architecture across our mobile platform, including apps, backend services and integrations.
- Work closely with engineers, product and delivery teams on active initiatives, contributing to design decisions in detail.
- Review and challenge solution designs constructively, proposing practical and improved approaches where needed.
- Ensure solutions are designed with explicit consideration for performance, scalability, security and cost.
- Identify dependencies, delivery risks and architectural trade‑offs, and communicate them clearly.
- Partner with Enterprise Architecture and broader technology teams to align with standards and roadmaps, contributing to planning, sequencing and prioritisation across delivery initiatives.
- Manage and reduce technical debt while supporting ongoing platform evolution.
- Act as a bridge between business and technology, translating complex concepts into clear outcomes. Qualifications
- Extensive experience designing and delivering solution architectures in modern, cloud‑based environments.
- Strong engineering and architecture credibility, with the ability to go deep into technical detail.
- Experience with mobile‑first architecture, including native or cross‑platform frameworks and supporting services.
- Strong understanding of integration patterns, APIs and event‑driven architectures.
- Experience working in digital or retail environments, ideally across e‑commerce or customer platforms.
- Awareness of modern retail and MarTech ecosystems (e.g., personalisation, messaging or customer data platforms).
- Proven ability to balance architectural quality with delivery pragmatism and timelines.
- Clear accountability mindset across performance, cost and dependencies.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence decisions across multiple teams. Benefits
