It works with leading hyperscalers, technology companies, institutional investors, and government clients to develop and manage mission‑critical infrastructure, including large‑scale data centres and digital infrastructure assets. About the Role The Project Director is a senior leadership role responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of large‑scale secure offices to monitor data centre in high security spaces. From there the role morph into hyperscale developments, data hall fit‑outs, and major services and infrastructure works. The role provides strategic oversight across planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to exacting technical and operational standards. This position leads multiple concurrent projects, working closely with global clients, contractors, consultants, utilities, and authorities to achieve certainty of outcome in fast‑paced, high‑risk environments. Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and accountability for the delivery of complex data centre projects from feasibility through to operational handover.
- Lead multi‑project programs, including hyperscale deployments and colocation environments.
- Establish and maintain robust project governance, reporting, and control frameworks. Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the senior point of contact for clients and key stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with utility providers, local authorities, consultants, and construction partners.
- Navigate complex stakeholder and approval environments, including power, planning, and compliance requirements. Technical & Commercial Oversight
- Provide senior oversight of mechanical and electrical infrastructure, including power distribution, cooling systems, resilience, and redundancy.
- Review and challenge design solutions to ensure constructability, operational efficiency, and future scalability.
- Manage budgets, cash flow, procurement strategies, and commercial risk across all project phases.
- Oversee contractor performance, safety, quality, and programme outcomes.
- Lead commissioning, testing, and handover processes in line with mission‑critical standards and client requirements.
- Manage live‑site works and phased handovers where required. Risk, Safety & Compliance
- Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with WHS, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks, particularly those associated with live environments, power, and critical systems. Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and mentor project directors, project managers, and discipline specialists.
- Build high‑performing project teams capable of delivering consistent outcomes across multiple sites. Required Skills
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (desirable).
- Strong understanding of mission‑critical systems, including power, cooling, redundancy, and commissioning processes.
- Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Robust commercial acumen with experience managing large capital budgets and contracts.
- Ability to operate confidently in high‑pressure, high‑profile project environments.
- Tenured experience in project or construction management, with significant time in senior leadership roles.
- Proven track record delivering data centre projects, including data hall fit‑outs, colocation facilities, and major services infrastructure.
- Experience managing large, complex, fast‑track programs with multiple stakeholders and interfaces
