Thinkerbell is looking for an amazing Freelance Lead Design Tinker (Senior Designer) to join our team of Thinkers and Tinkers in Melbourne! HOW YOU’LL CREATE MEASURED MAGIC What the hell is a Tinker? We’re glad you asked. Basically, you’re a creative person in the world of advertising. You may have a background in words, or production, or design, or filmmaking, or art direction (or all of the above)
- we don’t mind. A Tinker pulls things apart and puts them back together again. They love playing with ideas and bringing them to life. They fiddle and poke and prod until their ideas are working just right. They love coming up with ideas and they love getting those ideas out into the world for everyone else to enjoy. THE TASK AT HAND As a Lead Design Tinker , you’ll be developing your design leadership skills within our agency and will be responsible for creative and design leadership across a selection of clients. You’ll help mentor and support our more junior Design Tinkers and provide guidance and support across key projects/ accounts. You will collaborate with our Thinkers and Tinkers to produce ambitious and cutting-edge work for our clients. You’ve got enough experience behind you to have seen it all before, and when you haven’t seen it before you can draw on your expertise to work out what to do. You’ll need to take the reins and help us build and nurture our design capabilities. As a Lead Design Tinker, you need to have a keen interest and strong skills in design, as well as digital, conceptual ability and originality. As a creative person, you have an insatiable appetite for the latest trends and possess versatility and flair. You’ll have three key things to do: 1. DESIGN SOLUTIONS You bring big, bold, awesome design ideas to the table. You know what a big idea is, how it looks and behaves and more importantly, how to embed it into the design. 2. DESIGN LEADERSHIP You’re starting to know how to lead yourself to your best designs. You still need guidance, but can be left alone to work shit out for yourself. And you’re starting to develop an interest in leading others around you too. 3. ACT LIKE A DESIGNER, THINK LIKE A CLIENT You’re working out when to do the right design, for right now. You know when something needs to get done and out the door, but can spot an opportunity to craft something that makes you a little bit giddy with excitement.
