Timbarra College seeks classroom teachers for its P-9 program. The role focuses on planning, preparing, and teaching classroom programmes to achieve specific student outcomes while engaging in critical reflection to improve teaching practice. Selection Criteria SC1 Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills, and experience responding to student learning needs. SC2 Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing high impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating the impact on student learning growth. SC3 Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning, using data to inform teaching practice, and providing feedback to students and parents. SC4 Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the wider school community. SC5 Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values, reflecting upon practice and engaging in skilled learning to continually improve teaching quality. Role The classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges – Range 1 and Range 2. The primary focus is the planning, preparation, and delivery of teaching programmes to achieve specific student outcomes. Teachers are expected to engage in critical reflection and inquiry, and to support colleagues through mentoring and professional learning. Responsibilities
- Direct teaching of groups of students and, where appropriate, individual students.
- Contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum areas or other curriculum programmes within the school.
- Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
- Supporting classroom management and the use of student data to inform teaching approaches.
- Undertaking non‑teaching supervisory duties and assisting with policy development, project teams, and the organisation of co‑curriculum activities.
