Special Olympics Melbourne Inner East is looking for aVolunteer Co-Vice Chair to join ourClub Leadership Team and help shape the future of our club. About Special Olympics Special Olympics is a not-for-profit organisation that helps individuals with an intellectual disability participate in sport to enhance their physical and mental wellbeing, sense of purpose, and community connections. Our mission is to create an inclusive environment where athletes can thrive and feel empowered. What You’ll Do
- Support the Chair and committee in implementing MIE’s vision and strategic plans aligned with Special Olympics Australia goals.
- Share responsibility for leading committee meetings and fostering collaboration.
- Assist with governance, policy development, and compliance with SOA guidelines.
- Advocate for athletes and promote MIE’s activities within the community.
- Collaborate on fundraising, grant applications, and communications strategies.
- Help recruit and support volunteers while fostering a positive, inclusive culture.
- Ensure athletes are central to decision-making and leadership opportunities. What We’re Looking For
- Solid leadership and collaboration skills.
- Experience in governance, business, or community organisations (desirable).
- Commitment to inclusion and diversity.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
