Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer (Melbourne)

We’re supporting a complex technology environment undergoing significant transformation across cloud, infrastructure, security, and operational capability. Work is underway across cloud platform uplift, infrastructure modernisation, identity & access management, network enhancement, and optimisation of Microsoft 365 and Azure platforms. We’re looking for a practical, technically strong Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer to help deliver, configure, and optimise cloud and infrastructure services across a diverse and evolving technology landscape. Key responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimise cloud and infrastructure solutions
- Support cloud migration, platform uplift, and environment optimisation
- Maintain and improve hybrid infrastructure environments (cloud + on-prem)
- Contribute to identity, security, monitoring, and operational resilience initiatives
- Support infrastructure upgrades, lifecycle management, and platform performance
- Implement automation, scripting, and infrastructure optimisation activities
- Work across project teams to support solution delivery, deployment, and transition
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and infrastructure issues
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge transfer material What we’re looking for
- Experience across hybrid environments (cloud and on-premises)
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms, infrastructure services, and security controls
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, identity and access management, or infrastructure modernisation initiatives
- Experience with monitoring, automation, scripting, or Infrastructure-as-Code approaches
- Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder engagement capability
- Experience in local government or similarly complex environments highly regarded Why this role
