Senior Bookkeeper / Accounts Manager

Location: East Melbourne, VIC (Hybrid) Type: Permanent | Full-time The role

A growing, self-licensed professional services firm is seeking an experiencedSenior Bookkeeper / Accounts Manager to manage the day-to-day financial operations of the business. You’ll maintain accurate ledgers, deliver management reporting, reconcile client fees to budget, and manage revenue statements from external providers, while supporting the Managing Director with ongoing financial management and process improvements. Key responsibilities


- End-to-end bookkeeping inXero , including bank reconciliations and GST, with invoices attached to outgoings to support audit requirements
- Bill scheduling, supplier payments, ad hoc payments, and monthly payment cycles
- Monthly payroll and payroll tax
- Invoicing and payment processing (Statements of Advice, ongoing fees, accounting/FP work) and issuing daily tax receipts
- Commission reconciliations and reporting (financial planning)
- Debtors management (monthly statements and follow-up)
- WIP and billable hours tracking
- Reporting pack: P&L; (month/quarter/YTD), actual vs budget, balance sheet, cash flow, budgeting, expected invoicing dates
- IAS (monthly) andBAS (quarterly) preparation and reconciliation to ATO balances
- Maintain privacy/confidentiality and contribute to a positive, improvement-focused team culture Skills & experience


- Solid experience in bookkeeping/finance operations within aprofessional services environment
- Advanced Xero capability (essential)
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and ability to work autonomously
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and communication
- Certificate in Bookkeeping or Accounting degree
- 5+ years’ senior bookkeeping / accounts / finance / accounting experience
