Distribution Sales Consultant (Melbourne)

About the Role The purpose of the Distribution Sales Consultant position is to make distributors successful in selling Festo by achieving sales targets and managing relationships with assigned distributors. The role also involves finding new distribution partners and developing existing partners through the Distributor Development Program to extend Festo’s value proposition in the marketplace. Location Position will be based in Noble Park North, Victoria. Key Accountabilities
- Create an overall activity plan to ensure achievement of sales targets.
- Create and execute both account plans and joint business plans with assigned distribution partners, focusing on mid‑range sales planning, increasing market coverage, enhancing Festo’s presence, and strengthening the partners’ value proposition.
- Regularly conduct geographic and industry segment‑based market potential analysis to identify, select, and onboard recent distribution partners.
- Execute Festo’s Distribution Sales Strategy—including network planning, contracting, product sales steering, stock management, pricing guideline, conflict management, and competence development.
- Frequently visit distribution partners and jointly visit their customers in the respective area.
- Proactively align with internal and external stakeholders on channel collaboration or manage channel conflicts to create a seamless customer journey. Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in a discipline such as Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, mechatronics or automation technology, Business Administration or a comparable qualification.
- Highly specialised role requiring intimate and specific knowledge of technical applications and processes.
- Existing account stakeholder relationships within industrial automation.
- Experience in the industrial automation market and the respective industries, products and applications—particularly pneumatic, electric and process control knowledge.
- Sound understanding of business practices and behavioural styles of distribution partners to build on and grow the current distribution network in Australia.
- Minimum of 5 years professional sales experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Excel and CRM software due to the fast‑paced nature of the position.
- Knowledge of Festo as a company and its product range is a significant advantage. Advantages
