About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a Development Engineer to join an advanced manufacturing setting focused on the development and implementation of technically complex manufactured products.
Working within a newly established project team, this role will support the introduction and industrialisation of new products through technical trials, testing activities, stakeholder coordination, and manufacturing integration.
This position will suit someone who enjoys working in dynamic, evolving project environments where adaptability, technical credibility, and strong communication skills are essential.
The role will work closely with engineering, quality, operations, procurement, and project stakeholders to ensure new technologies and production processes are successfully integrated into manufacturing.
Location: Northern suburbs of Melbourne
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support technical trials, qualification, and validation activities.
- Coordinate testing and scale-up of new technologies and manufacturing processes.
- Develop technical documentation, specifications, and supporting reports.
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and operations teams to drive project outcomes.
- Identify and communicate technical risks, delays, and project impacts.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) and manufacturing readiness activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and structured problem-solving initiatives. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in the following:
- Degree qualified in a relevant science or engineering discipline (chemical/mechanical/material science or similar).
- Exposure to product development, qualification, validation, or scale-up activities.
- Strong understanding of RCA, FMEA, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Experience working within highly regulated, quality critical manufacturing environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication capability.
- Ability to work effectively across technical and operational teams.
