Commercial Project Electrician (Melbourne)

- Proudly operating since 1989 across electrical, HVAC, and commercial building services The Opportunity We are seeking a skilled Experienced Electrician to join our dedicated Team. This is a hands‑on role ideal for someone with a strong understanding of commercial/industrial systems. Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical and data installation, maintenance and breakdown repairs.
- Large project experience is essential – large mains cable install and fit off, MSB installations
- Fault finding and diagnostics of control circuits, motors, sensors and relays. No PLC experience necessary.
- Maintain a high standard of work
- Work with a wide variety of equipment, of varying ages including: variable speed drives (basic knowledge only), switchboards, and instrumentation
- Support upgrades and installations of production and automation equipment
- Interpret plans, wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering documentation
- Identify and order materials Specific Technical Skills See below for specific example of work tasks:
- Specifying, ordering, installing and commissioning mains cabling (from 70mm to 500mm)
- Correctly specifying and installing a 3‑phase contactor with 24V AC control
- Sizing cables and selecting appropriate protection devices for industrial motors and equipment
- Interpret plans, order materials, carry out installation and commission. Note: A practical skills test may be part of the selection process. About You
- Minimum 10 years' experience as an A-grade electrician in the commercial/industrial sector
- Proven skills in control wiring, motor circuits, and equipment fault diagnosis
- Sound knowledge of AS/NZS electrical standards and OH&S; requirements
- Able to work independently and manage time across multiple job sites
- Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
- Qualified presentation and a commitment to quality work
- Victorian A-Grade Electrical License
- Victorian Driver's License
- Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Personal hand tools suitable for industrial work
- Australian citizenship is required for this position What We Offer
