Managed Services Practice Manager (Melbourne)

Byte is looking for a Managed Services Practice Manager to take end‑to‑end accountability for how our Managed Services are delivered with a execution-first and adoption of current processes. For the next 12 months, the focus is clear: delivery consistency, accountability, and standardisation . This role will collaborate with CEO and CTO to implement and maintain the MS vision of Byte in a systematic approach. What this role is accountable for
- Owning delivery outcomes for all Managed Services customers
- Enforcing a single operating model across Service Desk, Operations and Service Delivery
- Eliminating hand‑offs, workarounds, and unnecessary escalation
- Ensuring services are delivered as defined in the Service Catalogue
- Maintaining financial discipline and margin in Managed Services delivery
- Ensuring standard work (MACDs) is repeatable, fixed‑price and fast
- Putting the right people in the right seats — and acting when they are not Technical experience we’re looking for You don’t need to be hands‑on — but you must be technically credible . You’ll bring robust working knowledge across: Employee Experience/Contemporary Work Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Intune) Cloud Infrastructure Cloud‑hosted environments (primarily Azure) Network Core network concepts (WAN/LAN, firewalls, VPNs) Security Endpoint, Cloud and Information security services Services Capability
- Ability to challenge scope creep disguised as “BAU”
- Endpoint and device onboarding/offboarding
- Availability, resilience, capacity and cost considerations
- Operational risk and recovery expectations
- Monitoring, alerting and incident response awareness
- Confidence leading major incidents without deep‑diving
- Patch, vulnerability and configuration management
- Understanding of delivery obligations aligned to ISO 27001 Your technical judgement enables better decisions — it does not make you the escalation engineer. Who we’re looking for A Service operation owner who:
